How to deal with Kafka so it won't get Kafkaesque

This talk focuses on the experience of exploiting several Kafka clusters in production:

• monitoring;
• maintenance;
• tooling.

During this session, we will review Kafka components: how and why we monitor them, what metrics we collect and what we are looking at. We will analyze the main scenarios in servicing the Kafka clusters: what pitfalls can be encountered when performing standard operations, what metrics to look out for. We will also consider open source DevOps tools for Kafka.
