Decomposing GitOps. How to Upgrade Your CIOps to GitOps with Minimal Effort

GitOps is a word that is on everyone's lips. 

There are many views on the composition of this approach and many interesting demonstrations where different people commit something to git, then curl something.... But when we come back to the real world, we see that GitOps is just a deploy step in a complex CI/CD pipeline with builds, code and security tests and more.

And to add GitOps here, we have to bring in a heavy tooling (like Flux or Argo CD) and significantly rework the established processes, conventions and CI/CD pipelines to fit the specifics of the chosen tooing, its requirements and constraints.
