Skipper: how and why we wrote our own framework to work with K8s

The speakers' company makes a medical platform, they host it themselves or deploy it to the customer. The team has long suffered from Helm, Kustomize, Terraform and other tools, and in the end they wrote their own: Skipper. It's a more advanced templating tool (a bit like Terraform) that allows you to build simple end-user abstractions and a framework for developing statements. With KIND you can also race functional tests, and with Clojure REPL extend Ops interactively.
